Employment law is changing all the time and in order to minimise liability it is as important for small and medium sized companies to be aware of these changes as it is for large organisations.  We know you don’t need piles of polices and procedures for their own sake but it does make sense to have the basic policies and documentation in place that are clear and user-friendly so that your employees know what you, as their employer will do in certain circumstances and what you expect from them, in addition to complying with the statutory minimum requirements of employment legislation.

It has been estimated that hiring the wrong candidate can cost a business up to three times the agreed starting salary. There are obvious costs like agency and /or advertising fees, time spent recruiting, salary, training etc. There are also hidden costs such as lost sales, lost customers, managing poor performance and the impact on the team and morale. So the “hire them and get rid of them if they don’t work strategy” is expensive on all fronts.

The HR Surgery can help you to recruit the best and leave the rest for your competition by providing support with the following:

HR Surgery Time Bundles

While we can work with you on a trial Pay-As-You-Go basis, the majority of our clients buy blocks of time in advance, usually 10, 20 or 40 hours which can be used as you wish, whether it be for telephone advice, letter writing, production of documents or attendance at meetings etc.  The bigger the block of time you buy, the greater the discount on our hourly rate.

We do not tie our customers into long, unwieldy contracts - you can use us whenever you need to without restrictive time constraints.  Once the block of time has been used we ask whether you would like to buy another one, if you want to wait or if you don't need any more for now - that's fine, there is no obligation.
